About the role
The Senior Payroll Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll data for all employees. You will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, providing exceptional customer service, and resolving complex payroll issues. You will provide accurate, timely and efficient payroll services for employees. Ensure all operational aspects of payroll processing, data and pay information integrity and associated activities are accurate and delivered within appropriate time frames and comply with relevant legislation, policies and agreements
Duties

Process all activities connected with end-to-end payroll processing related to each authorized pay run to ensure payments to employees and staff are made accurately and on time

Administer approved changes to payroll related data, Workers’ Compensation payment, salary deductions, leave adjustments, tax and super variations, fleet car leases, payroll tax etc.

Respond to and advise staff on payroll matters or queries relating to employee entitlements

Deliver reporting and reconciliations as required, e.g. budget data, leave liability provisioning, etc
Skills & experience
-
5+ years experience processing end to end payroll in medium sized organisations
- Strong experience interpreting modern awards and EBAs in an Australian environment

In-depth knowledge of employment legislation, payroll tax and Workcover legislation in all Australian states and territories

Experience using Technology One is essential
