SAP FI/CO Consultant - Australian Citizen 

6-Month Contract | Melbourne

We are seeking an experienced SAP FI/CO Consultant to support a series of finance-focused SAP initiatives, including system implementations, enhancements, upgrades and optimisations within SAP ECC 6.0.

This role is suited to a hands-on FI/CO specialist with strong project delivery experience who can take ownership of end-to-end Finance and Controlling solutions across complex environments. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality outcomes that align business requirements, system integration and financial best practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the SAP FI/CO Subject Matter Expert (SME) across finance-related project streams
• Lead full lifecycle SAP FI/CO activities including blueprinting, solution design, configuration, testing, cutover and post-go-live support
• Translate business requirements into scalable and compliant ECC 6.0 FI/CO solutions
• Provide accurate work effort estimates and develop detailed work plans for ERP developments and support activities
• Develop and maintain project artefacts including solution designs, configuration documents, test cases and training materials
• Own and validate data migration activities for master data and open items (customers, vendors, assets, cost centres)
• Collaborate closely with technical teams (ABAP, Basis) on functional specifications and system performance
• Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring full traceability to requirements
• Facilitate workshops, end-user training and business readiness activities
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with end users, senior stakeholders and project team members
• Propose and deliver system enhancements to optimise financial processes using SAP best practices
• Provide effective knowledge transfer to support teams to ensure ongoing system sustainability

Skills & Experience Required (Essential)

• 8-10+ years’ SAP FI/CO project experience, with strong hands-on exposure to SAP ECC 6.0
• Proven experience configuring SAP FI and CO modules with deep understanding of integration points
• Strong background in SAP FI/CO development, maintenance and support
• Demonstrated ability in business analysis, process improvement and requirements gathering
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both SAP and non-SAP stakeholders
• Proven capability to engage with and influence senior management and business stakeholders
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices

• Experience with Concur Expense Management and/or Invoicing would be highly regarded

Contract Details

• 6-month contract with high possibilities of long term extensions
• Melbourne-based
• Competitive daily rate
