The year of 2013-2014 at Speller International has brought new innovations to the company, many new permanent placements and contractors to the Speller family and has seen us working for yet another year with so many clients, some new but mainly those who we have had a long standing relationship with from day one.

So what specifically has been going on? LOTS!

WHO WE WELCOMED

  • In October we welcomed Lechée De Chavez into the Projects and Marketing Coordinator role. Known in the office as LDC, she was brought in to bring our new Social Media strategy to life as well as other more administrative tasks such as tender writing and other office projects.

  • In November we welcomed Jack Bland as the new ACT/NSW/Qld Account Manager. With such a large presence in our own state, we were really excited to get Jack on board to focus purely on the ever growing Eastern seaboard. Jack has already made a significant impact with several clients in our fellow states.

  • In June we welcomed Matt Leak to head up our Corporate Services (SAP Users) division as Account Manager/BDM. Maria McNally did an excellent job of getting the division up and running and has now handed the reins over to Matt to grow this offering to both new and existing clients; this has enabled Maria to join the resource team focusing on search, head hunting and candidate management for Corporate Services.

WHAT WE LAUNCHED

3 new divisions – Changing our internal structure to reflect market demand, we launch our three SAP specialist division:

  • SAP (IT)

  • SAP Change, Training and Documentation

  • Corporate Services (SAP Users)

Website – In December we moved from the informative but maybe a little dated website to a technologically-savy ‘responsive’ one. With the ability to adapt to any screen size or device, the new site offers an optimised experience whether you’re at the office on your desktop or enjoying our blog on the tram on the way home. The website is the all-important platform for our new Social Media strategy.

SI Newsletter – On February 6th we emailed our first ever monthly newsletter which has grown to a readership of 10,000 clients and candidates. A collation of blogs covering topics on all things SAP, this newsletter is pulled together in one easy email and sent directly to you. A special mention to Judy Cole, our National Sales Manager who is quite the blogger!

LinkedIn – Just 12 months ago we had 232 followers and are now communicating to over 1,400 people on a weekly basis thanks to our competition and internal promotion of our company page.

WHAT WE CELEBRATED

Cracking Christmas! We enjoyed our biggest and best-yet Christmas party to thank our clients and candidates on the rooftop at the Tuscan Bar. Shannon Matthews, our Office Manager certainly has her work cut out for her this year to try and out-do her amazing efforts from 2013.

10 Years! – We celebrated our first big staff Spellerversary in March. A decade of hard work and commitment from Dara Dennis was marked with an all staff lunch and lots of ‘memory lane’ stories. It was also an opportunity for me to reflect on how much the office has grown and changed in that time, Dara having been the second person I ever hired at Speller International.

WHAT WE LEARNT

SAUG – We were onsite at SAUG events in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane throughout the year. Keeping abreast of hot SAP topics, we always enjoy the opportunity to network and swap thoughts on the new, topical and changing faces of SAP. And we always enjoy a post event drink with the organisers and attendees!

Staff Smarts – Speller got a little ‘smarter’ with Shannon Matthews, our Office Manager completing her Certificate III in Business Administration and Judy Cole, our National Sales Manager her Diploma of Management. Many of our staff took advantage of our Annual Professional Development (APD) Program and completed a variety of short courses in recruitment, leadership and social media.

WHATS NEXT?
