Tell us a bit about yourself?
I was born and raised in West London until I was 15, when I moved to High Wycombe to pursue a career as a professional footballer. Over five years, I made more than 40 appearances in the English Football Leagues 1 and 2, which meant I didn't attend university. I'm passionate about staying fit and enjoy an occasional beer or whiskey. I constantly set challenges for myself and push my limits. I’m also a tech enthusiast, always keeping up with the latest trends.
I moved to Australia in January 2020. Despite the challenges posed by COVID, it has turned out to be the best decision of my life, and I now consider it home. I'm an early riser who loves spending time outdoors, whether it's going for walks, enjoying Melbourne’s famous coffee, or exploring new fitness programs. On weekends, I enjoy quality time with loved ones, savoring delicious food (my favorites are Italian and Asian cuisines), and more recently, playing football (soccer) again.
What is your role at Speller? What does an average day involve?
My role at Speller is a Business Development Manager and an average day would be to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, new and existing, understand their businesses needs and to ensure I go above and beyond to reach satisfaction. This would involve regular communication and to provide solutions to their problems. I am also responsible for identifying new business opportunities, and to develop partnerships that align the companies’ goals, lead market research to understand needs across clients, industry trends, competitor sharing/activities, which will help me to develop efficient and effective strategies. I also have a deep understanding of resourcing technical roles so therefore, if needed, I will recruit for positions across the SAP market.
Tell us a bit about your professional background?
Over 9 years’ experience across UK & APAC including Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia working across a multitude of technology recruitment which involves Software Development, Cloud Engineering and Architecture, Digital Transformation and Project Services. Both internal and external recruitment experience which gives me the knowledge to understand how businesses operate and function on a day-to-day basis. Prior to my recruitment career, I played professional soccer for 5 years, so I am highly competitive and a team player.
What are you enjoying about your role at Speller?
I am enjoying being part of a dynamic team which is driven to succeed. The team are close, and I am grateful for all the help and support they have shown me over the last few weeks.
Where do we find you in your downtime?
Keeping fit, spending time with friends, or thinking of new and creative ideas to be successful. I am on the verge of starting a side business, so this could take up most of my spare time moving forward
What's your favourite part of Australia?
I’ve been lazy when it comes to travelling Australia, however, I loved Adelaide when I went.
What does 2024 hold both professionally and personally for you?
To the best version of myself every day, learn and development new skills, and to have an extremely successful year both professionally and personally.
