We recently welcomed Karen to our Operations Team. As Speller continues to grows, Karen is a welcome addition to the Payroll and Accounts team. Read below to find out more about Karen's role and goals for 22/23.

What is your role at Speller? What does an average day involve?

My role is Accounts and Payroll Support, I will be assisting Amanda with all aspects of payroll/accounts - onboarding, timesheets, invoices and payroll queries.

Tell us a bit about your professional background.

My previous employment was in Aged and Disability services, where I worked as a support coordinator for about 7 years,  dealing with planning, implementing and management of care plans for clients, management and rostering for staff.

What are you enjoying about your role at Speller?

I am really enjoying challenging myself again,  there is so much to learn! I am also looking forward to getting to know everyone and becoming a part of the Speller team.

Where do we find you in your downtime?

I am married with three children, 2 young adults and a primary school aged girl,  they all keep me super busy outside of work hours. When I do get time to myself,  I love to read,  trying new restaurants / bars or spending time with my friends.

What's your favourite part of Australia?

I have always loved Deniliquin – which is just over the NSW border in the Riverina region.  I grew up in the area and I love the quiet town and the beautiful river. 

​

What does 2022 hold both professionally and personally for you?

Professionally I am really looking forward working with the Speller team and developing and expanding my skills and experience.

From a Personal standpoint, since we have been in lock down for COVID for the best part of the last two years, I have a list a mile long of places we want to visit for long weekends over the summer. I am also looking forward to spending time with my friends and family and making new memories.
