Falling In Love With Your Job

It’s that time of year again and love is in the air. Valentine’s Day is the day where flower shops are run off their feet, restaurants are booked weeks in advance and chocolate sales go through the roof.

But love comes in many forms and so this Valentine’s day our very own Scott Anstey decided to find out from one of our much-loved contractors, Thanh Phung, why he loves his job.

SA. Give everyone a quick introduction to yourself and your SAP experience?

TP. I am an experienced Basis consultant with 25 years under my belt. Majority of this time was spent working full time with TOYOTA, and more recently have begun working at Jemena as a contractor.

SA. What do you love most about the job you do?

TP. I love this job because I am able to provide the best customer service to the best of my ability. My job allows me to learn every day, and to expand my boundaries. I honestly love working with others and solving problems in general.

SA. How do you maintain the love for your job day in day out?

TP. I approach my job with a positive attitude every day. By learning from the past, I hope to prepare myself for the best in everything I do. I always strive to see things in a positive light and love to celebrate even the smallest achievements with my friends, family and my colleagues.

SA. Have you had a time in your career that you fell out of love with your job and what did you do to overcome this and love your job again?

TP. To be honest I have yet to experience falling out of love with my job. I love the job that I do every day, and I am always passionate about the things I do. However, if I ever happen to fall out of love with my job, I would try to speak out and seek for help and advice in those who I trust.

SA. What do you have planned this Valentine’s day at home?

TP. As always, Valentine’s Day cannot be missed without chocolate. At work, I plan to spread the love through sharing chocolate with my teammate and staff members. At home, I have planned to cook a nice meal to share with my family.
As you can see from Thanh he genuinely loves what he does. So why not take his lead and spread some love this Valentine’s day at your work place?

We’d love to hear why you love what you do and if you have any plans at work this Valentine’s days.
