Every contractor working with Speller is supported by a dedicated Candidate Manager, along with strong administration, timesheet and superannuation support from our Administration Team.

Your Candidate Manager will provide regular follow-up with you while you’re on placement, and will be your point of contact for any contract enquiries, workplace issues our concerns.

Here's what Contractor Placement with Speller looks like.

Your candidate manager will stay in contact with you throughout your contract.

During your first catchup, you can agree how regularly you’d like to be contacted and if you’d like to meet up in person, over Microsoft Teams, or via a phone call.

Your candidate manager will also be there to support you through all contract extensions, and when you do finish up, will work with you to secure your next placement.

Choose the contracting option that’s right for you.

One of the key advantages of contracting is choice.
As a Speller International contractor, you can choose to contract with us in three ways:
  • As a Speller International PAYG (AU) / PAYE (NZ) Contractor
  • As a Pty Ltd Company (AU) / Limited Company (NZ) or
  • Through a Contractor Management Company or Payroll company

When choosing the right option for you, be sure to consider your personal and financial circumstances carefully and discuss the options with your accountant and/or financial adviser before making a decision.

Leave the administration to us.

Our Administration Team are here to support you in your contracted role and will manage everything from timesheets and pay, through to superannuation and insurance.​

Timesheets & Pay
We pay contractors on a weekly basis, processed three weeks in arrears based on weekly submission of an accurate and authorised timesheet via our Timesheets Online platform. Timesheets need to be submitted on Friday of each working week.
Superannuation
In accordance with Australian superannuation legislation, you can choose where your compulsory Superannuation Guarantee (SG) contributions are made. Speller International process contributions to your nominated account on a monthly basis.

If you do not nominate a superannuation fund, we can set up an account and make contributions on your behalf into our default fund through Australian Super.

New Zealand contractors can select if they would like to contribute to their Kiwi Saver.

Salary Packaging
Our accounts team is happy to help with salary packaging where we can. If you are a PAYG contract, we can structure in a Per Diem if you are traveling regularly for work.

Insurances
Public Liability, Professional Indemnity insurance and WorkCover/National Insurance are mandatory when you commence a contract through Speller International. It is our legal responsibility to ensure all contractors have this cover whilst working on site with our clients.

If you have these insurances then you will need to provide us with a copy of your certificates of currency when you sign your contract.

If you don’t have your own insurances, then you can be covered under the Speller International policy for a nominal fee.

Safety
Your safety is important to us and Speller International is committed to ensuring you have a risk-free working environment that includes training, updates and providing sufficient information in order for you to utilise safe work practices.
