Power BI Developer
Contract Role | Short-Term Engagement | Melbourne (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong expertise in Power BI Report Builder (Paginated Reports) to support a major reporting uplift.

This role is ideal for someone who can quickly understand business needs and deliver pixel-perfect, print-ready reports under tight timeframes.

8 Week contract. 

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder
• Translate business requirements into structured, print-ready report layouts
• Build and optimise datasets, SQL queries, and reporting data models
• Deliver reports formatted for high-quality PDF and print distribution
• Implement parameters, filters, and dynamic content for flexible reporting
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and incorporate feedback
• Troubleshoot and resolve report performance, rendering, and formatting issues
• Produce clear technical documentation and report specifications

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven hands-on experience with Power BI, specifically Power BI Report Builder (Paginated Reports)
• Strong SQL skills with experience across relational databases
• Demonstrated ability to design complex, multi-page, print-ready reports
• Strong understanding of data modelling and reporting performance optimisation
• Ability to quickly interpret business requirements and deliver accurate outputs
• Exceptional attention to detail, particularly around layout, alignment, and formatting

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Power BI Service and deployment pipelines
• Familiarity with DAX and Power Query (data transformation)
• Experience working with workforce or operational systems such as UKG WFM Pro
• Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst or Power Platform certifications
• Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
