Speller International is one of Australia’s largest and most respected SAP resourcing and recruitment companies. Established in 2001, we are renowned for our expertise in sourcing talented professionals with specialist SAP skills for contract, permanent and executive positions. Since 2014 we have been offering SAP Consulting Services across the full range of SAP technologies and have recently expanded and started a sister company, CloudApps Consulting, to meet the high demand for cloud-based ERP products.
We are looking for an experienced IT Support Consultant to join us on an adhoc basis to support us 1-2 days per month to manage our IT for our small team of 12. Our IT infrastructure currently consists of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams, a cloud-based CRM (Recruit Wizard) and cloud-based payroll / timesheet management portal (Astute Payroll) and finance management software (MYOB/Xero), as well as an onsite server that is nearing the end of its life. Our team use both desktop PC’s and laptops and mobiles as their tools of trade, all of which will need to be supported.
You will be the sole IT representative for our Melbourne head office, located in Carlton, and work in partnership with our Office Manager, and liaise with both our Sales Manager and Managing Director. The majority of your work can be conducted remotely, with the occasional need for you to come to the office for onsite support (COVID-19 restrictions permitting).
In addition to the above, we are currently investigating several cyber security improvements that will need to be project managed and implemented for our team; these include:
- Upgrade to Microsoft 365 Business Premium
- Upgrade to P1 licence & Microsoft Azure
- Firewall upgrade and installation
- Retirement of a 6-year-old onsite server and transition of data to the cloud
- Robust cyber security monitoring practices to be implemented
Technical Skills Required:
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Microsoft AD
- Windows Desktop
- Virtual Machine Management
- Application Support such as MS Office, MYOB (soon to be Xero)
- Router, Firewall and Switch configuration experience
- Logical problem-solving skills
- Initiative to triage and discern the urgency of problems
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar role
- VOIP phone system exposure beneficial
Non-Technical Skills Required:
- Confident and concise communication skills
- Great customer service
- Broad and contemporary technical skills and the willingness to upskill as needed
- Mature, autonomous and proactive in your approach
- A flexible and down-to-earth attitude is a must
- Project management experience will be highly regarded
This role would ideally suit an independent operator who is available 1-2 days per month to support us with our IT requirements. Whilst this is an adhoc support role, there is a large proportion of work to be done initially to help us set up our cyber security infrastructure. Once this has been implemented and is running smoothly, ongoing maintenance and monitoring will be required as part of the ongoing role.
This role will be paid on an hourly basis, which will be negotiable for the right candidate, given the adhoc nature of the support we will require.
