What is your role at Speller? What does an average day involve?
I’m the Office Manager for Speller international and CloudApps Consulting. I can’t say there is ever an average day in my role. It’s go from the start of the day to the end of the day.
I deal with customer and candidate queries via email and phone. I organise all internal and external events for Speller and CloudApps as well as being involved in the full onboarding of candidates and clients from contract to start date. I also work with the fabulous accounts teams to ensure that all things payroll and accounts are reconciled and up-to-date for all clients, customers and staff. I am also in charge of everyday functions of the office such as IT, maintenance, orders and guests.
Tell us a bit about your professional background
I have worked in a number of industries, aged care, hospitality, childcare and entertainment. I started in administration in 2010 when I joined a serviced office as the receptionist. It was a great start because in these particular offices, you are receptionist to more than 100 companies as well as being IT, PA, office manager and everything in between. I was the go-to person and I found I enjoyed that a lot.
I moved on as I wanted to be reception for a single company and from there I’ve continued seeking opportunities to improve my experience and advance my career in office management including some certificates in Administration and commencing Certification in Project Management.
What are you enjoying about your role at Speller?
I am enjoying setting up processes and procedures to help me do my role more efficiently.
Where do we find you in your downtime?
You can find me DJ-ing for a crowd in various clubs around Melbourne, catching some live shows, on the dance floor or enjoying quality time with my Goddaughter or friends and family.
How do you cope with COVID lockdowns?
I love baking, cooking and video chatting with friends and family all around the world.
What's your favourite part of Australia?
I love Adelaide. I love all the outdoor activities you can do, and the wineries are my favourite!
