Today we sit down and chat to our newest team member, Leah Penney.
Leah is Speller’s Payroll/ Accounts Support, and so we ask her a little bit about her history, what she is looking forward to in the role, and how she spends her free time. Let’s hear from Leah!
Tell us a little bit of Leah Penney history?
Born and raised in Geelong, I made the transition to the ‘big smoke’ in 2013 during my undergraduate degree at RMIT. I studied social science at university, and I retain a keen interest in the human condition.
I thrived while completing the statistics and neuroscience portion of my course. During the same year, I adopted my cat Earl (Grey) and we are as thick as thieves. Since my graduation from university, my career path has traversed from administrative work right through to advertising and accounts.
Having recently joined the Speller Team, what are you most looking forward to in your role as Payroll/Accounts Support?
I’m thoroughly looking forward to experiencing the responsibility of payroll and accounts, all the while learning as much as I can about the company and its inner workings.
Where do we find you in your down time?
In my downtime I love to play boardgames with friends and give some attention to the back catalogue of video games from the last decade. If you’re lucky, you might even catch me in my fencing attire and duelling with whoever will challenge me.
And while I admire my ever-growing mountain of literature, I’m trying to make my way through each book by giving it the love and attention it needs. I also love watching foreign films and studying languages.
What does 2020 hold both professionally and personally for you?
Professionally, I will be perfecting my payroll and accounts expertise whilst assisting where I can with administrative tasks and projects.
Personally, I will be travelling back to Japan and continuing with my study of Japanese and Latin.
Welcome to the Speller Team, Leah!
