Quarterly Report

What a Quarter! We ended the year with a BANG here at Speller International and it’s that time again where I share some of the real stats with you.

Speller International has a “Team Day” each quarter where we review and analyse some of our key data from the quarter to see how we are tracking and what was hot in the world of SAP, the quarterly crunch is designed to share our stats with the SAP Community minus my opinion so that hopefully you can draw your own conclusion!

As a reminder to what happened in Q3

In regards to purely sales (Sales = people placed within the SAP field in either contract of permanent engagements) Quarter 4 was the best quarter in the 15 year history of Speller International…by 4 placements! We placed 32% more people last quarter than we did in quarter 4 of the previous year (April, May, June 2014)

What are the top 5 roles we placed in the Quarter?

  • SAP FICO

  • SAP BO

  • SAP SRM

  • SAP Tester

  • SAP CRM

FYI Last quarter (Q3) … It was;

  • SAP HCM

  • SAP Management (Project/Deployment)

  • SAP WM/MM

  • SAP CRM

  • SAP Testers

What % were permanent vs Contract in Quarter 4?

87% of our placements were contract and 13% were permanent and/or Fixed Term. Last quarter (Q3) only 6% were permanent.

How else can we measure how busy the market was?

While the number of people we placed is a good indication… it is not always the best indication for us as to gage how the market is/was. We also like to look at the number of requirements we received from our clients (requirements = vacant job positions which we are engaged to work)

Let’s look at number of requirements that we got in during the quarter;

Speller International received a total of 128 vacant SAP job positions to fill throughout the quarter; those positions were across our 3 divisions (SAP IT, SAP Change and Training and SAP Corporate services)

14% of those vacant positions were permanent or fixed term engagements and 86% were contract requirements.

Remember last quarter we got 106 vacancies.

Top 10 Requirements

  • SAP FICO

  • SAP Data (Data Migration and Master Data)

  • SAP Tester

  • SAP BI

  • SAP ABAP

  • SAP CRM

  • SAP Security

  • SAP SD

  • SAP Business Analyst

  • SAP Architect

FYI – top 5 requirements from Q3 are below;

  • SAP FICO

  • SAP Trainers

  • SAP MM

  • SAP HCM

  • SAP Project Management

Most difficult skill set to find for Quarter 4 (In no particular order)

  • SAP CRM (functional and developers)

  • SAP IDM

  • SAP SuccessFactors

  • SAP APO

  • SAP LE

So there you have it…. Speller’s most placed SAP modules, SAP skillsets in the highest demands and what the permanent market looks like compared to contract!

I would love to hear your thoughts…. Surprised we are still not seeing many SAP HANA requirements? Happy that SAP ABAP was our 5th most popular requirement? Excited to see SAP FICO has topped our most requirements list for the last 6 months? What will be our most placed area for Q1… who knows!!!???
