My name is Jack Bland and I head up the Resource Team at Speller. Some of you in the SAP world will know either me or one of our Candidate Managers in the Team (Maria McNally, Scott Anstey or Tim Baxter) however some of you may not. The aim of this article is to introduce the team and tell you a bit about what we do and how we may be able to help you!
WHAT WE DO
The Resource Team at Speller focus solely on finding, placing and supporting SAP professionals predominately in the ANZ market. Our team has a combined total of 20 years experience recruiting solely within SAP. We speak to around 400 SAP professionals each week for the roles that we are working on. Our main focus is obviously placing people in roles that we are working on but there are also other not-so-obvious areas that we are happy to help you with;
As we are speaking to and working on live jobs in Australia all day every day we have a real time sense of what is currently going on in the market. This includes new technologies that are taking off, industries that are busy, rates that are being offered and current technologies that are in demand.
INTERVIEW TIPS AND HINTS
Each year we arrange over 400 interviews for SAP positions, and as a result we have a good idea of what companies look for when hiring for SAP professionals. Even the most seasoned SAP consultant may go through patches in their career where they do not interview for years, having a refresher of interview techniques and tips may be invaluable for your job search!
We look at CV’s – lots of CV’s! We are always happy to provide guidance to you on your CV layout, how much information to include, skills to highlight or even the best font! As an example we have recently seen a number of non specific recruitment companies telling people to shorten CV’s to two pages. In the SAP market we feel it is important to have a more detailed account of what you have done including all the technologies you have relevant experience in.
