Meet The Team5

Tell us a bit about your history, Amber-Lee Kristensen

I grew up in Adelaide and in 2005 started my career providing office support for both construction and development projects. After transitioning to work in real estate, it became clear that I had a passion for people (both clients and team-members alike) so focused my next few years working as a vendor manager, delivering various marketing campaigns for premium properties.

At the age of twenty-four, I took a spontaneous trip to Byron Bay and fell in love with the place instantly. Between long days at the beach and drinking Stone and Wood’s I took a chance and knocked on the door of the most reputable real estate agency in town. They say you make your own luck, and I landed a job as the Office Manager before transitioning into sales. I reflect on my 3 years in Byron Bay as an incredible period for both my personal and professional growth and it was a hard decision to leave.

In 2017 I relocated to Melbourne to be closer to my family and, despite missing the amazing Byron beaches, I couldn’t be happier with my life here. I like to challenge myself, and last year took some time out to travel to Africa and around Australia before commencing my studies in Human Resources. Joining the team at Speller provides me with the perfect opportunity to continue my professional development whilst complementing my studies.

Having recently joined the Speller Team, what are you most looking forward to in your role as Office Manager?

I love the diversity of the Office Management role and believe that my diverse background and years of experience will allow me to improve procedures, support the team and contribute to the amazing culture we have. I feel lucky to work with an amazing bunch of talented and hardworking people and enjoy celebrating a job well done.

Where do we find you in your downtime?

I love cooking and relaxing at home with my partner and friends (usually with a glass of red wine in hand!), or soaking up what sun Melbourne has on top of a rooftop bar. My greatest passion is for travel, so I’m always planning my next overseas trip, or where to explore next in Victoria. At least once a month we’ll head out of the city for a road trip and a hike; my favourite place is Lorne as it reminds me of Byron.

What does 2019 hold both professionally and personally for you?

Professionally I’m looking forward to learning the ropes within the recruitment industry, and also continuing my studies in HR. On the personal front, I can’t wait to head over to Mexico later this year and in the meantime will be working on my Spanish.
